"Welcome to the Future of Imaging"

I’ve never really shared my writing online. Perhaps because until recently I had never written anything that I felt was worth sharing. This spring I had the pleasure of taking a course called The Future of Imaging, led by Fred Ritchin. It was, without a doubt, the most important class I have taken in my three years at NYU. Our midterm paper assignment asked us to imagine that thousands of people from around the world would be joining our class via the internet and to write a letter to these new classmates to, in essence, get them up to speed. I stumbled upon my response to this assignment today and thought I’d make it available to those who are interested. (Conversation and critique are welcomed and appreciated.)
